Red Cyclemap Beowulf Aguablanca Rejected Quarterly Ace Nine

Red was a project on the BA (Hons) Art&Design course at Colchester Institute, based on the brief from the 2002 RSA (Royal Society of Art) student-competition. The task was to design an exhibition including floorplans, information-displays and promotional material, dealing with the colour red and its possible meanings and connotations.

Colchester Cyclemap was a collaboration between Colchester Institute and Colchester Borough Council. The brief was to create a new cylcemap for the town.

Beowulf The creation of an illustrated edition of the Old English poem Beowulf was my final project at Colchester Institute. I saw it as an opportunity to combine graphic design and illustration in one project.

Aguablanca e.V. is a charity founded by teachers of the Johanneum Gymnasium (high-school or 6thform-college, my old school) in Herborn, Germany, that aims at aiding children in the slum Aguablanca in the Columbian city Cali by supporting a local school and other projects. For their 15th anniversary I designed a new leaflet.

The Rejected Quarterly is a small literary magazine sold at universities along the westcoast of the United States. It specialises on good fiction rejected by publishers at least five times. I was asked to illustrate and design a cover for the edition of winter/spring 2004, with a Tolkien- (and rejection-) related theme.

Ace Nine, a rockband that has recently released its first CD "Burgers by Satellite" asked me to design the interior of their CD-booklet.
